Biocides for Europe Managers, Cefic

Boris Van Berlo is a chemist with a PhD in catalysis from the KU Leuven (Belgium) who over the past 13 years gained expertise & experience in the field of biocides. His journey started at the Belgian Competent Authority for biocides, were throughout the years he was involved in almost all the different biocidal product authorisation & active substance approval processes. He also represented the BE CA in the Standing Committee on Biocidal Products, ECHA’s Biocidal Products Committee and the Coordination Group. Four years ago he joined Biocides for Europe, a sector group of Cefic, which represents the biocides industry in Europe. He actively follows the ongoing regulatory developments impacting biocides and provides to the Biocides for Europe members information, best practices and experiences regarding the implementation of the EU biocides legislation. He is an observer in the Competent Authority Meetings of the Commission, ECHA’s Biocidal Products Committee and the Coordination Group.
